Intensity: Refers to how hard you’re working during an exercise based on the amount of weight used. High intensity refers to lifting weight close to the maximum you can lift for that exercise. Volume: Refers to the total amount of work (sets, reps and exercises) done during an entire workout. A lot of sets, reps and exercises equal a high volume workout; few sets, reps and exercises equal a low volume session.

Relationship between Intensity and Volume: Generally, the higher the one, the lower the other.
