Whether it was a tough week of practice or a killer test in your hardest class, you just need a break from reality. No doubt you’ll get that with the intense action and non-stop combat Katros serves up in his escapades in God of War II. The latest version of the game is set to debut for PS2 in March.

After dethroning Ares in the first edition, Katros is back with an even bigger appetite to conquer. In the new game, the God of War loses his godly powers and becomes mortal, which leads the ex-Spartan warrior on a journey to the Island of Creation, seeking the Sisters of Fate temple to gain back his forces. The island is loaded with characters from Greek mythology as well as those from the God of War universe.

Katros’ arsenal is still packed with the Blade of Athena and Rage of Poseidon, but for this expedition he requires extraordinary powers—one of which causes electric-shock-like damage. Also new are improved combat mechanics and upgradeable weapons, like Barbarian King’s hammer (which you earn only by defeating him), allowing you to command warriors to fight for you. Several mini-games are also available for when you need additional powers. Challenge of the Gods returns with a new battle mode that allows you to pit creatures against each other and use your earned red orbs for power in the main game. The double bonus, though, is a second disc with a behind-the-scenes documentary of the game’s development
