Getting the whole crew to someone’s pad for some intense virtual baseball isn’t easy. But Sony Computer Entertainment’s MLB 07 The Show solves the problem. Beyond better graphics and improved gameplay, the latest version of the best-selling baseball video game features Online League Play, which allows gamers to create leagues of six to 30 teams, track all stats, and choose players, teams, schedules and a slew of other options. Now you can feed your competitive appetite by taking on all your boys—even when you’re not together in one place.

PSP and PS2 versions debuted in late-February. The PlayStation 3 edition releases this month, so the online extravaganza can begin for any and all PlayStation owners. Unfortunately, cross-platform leagues are not available with Online League Play, so you have to partner up with the guys who have the same system as you.

Those gaming on PS3 get an additional bonus: a great learning tool called Pitch Grip, which details the grips and release points of 15 different pitches. You can use Replay Mode to study and learn what to look for when each pitch is hurled your way. Take these study habits to the dugout and film room to learn the tendencies of the pitchers you face, which will give you an edge when you step in the batter’s box.
