The evaluation period is finally here, so get ready for college coaches to seriously watch you in action. Here’s what you need to know before tearin’ it up on the field.

What’s an evaluation period?
Division I and II authorized athletic department staff [i.e., head or assistant coaches] visit your high school to assess your academic qualifications and observe your playing abilities during practice and/or games.

Is there an evaluation period for Division III colleges?
No. There is no recruiting calendar that addresses the evaluation of D-III athletics.

Can I talk to college coaches during this time?
No. Recruiting contacts are not permitted between coaches and prospective student-athletes until the appropriate contact period.

For more information, check out ncaa.org.
