Quite the NFL weekend for a few STACKletes. While we don’t provide a forum for fantasy football with advice on who to start at your make-it-or-break-it flex position, we do provide real advice that produces real results. Since we’re the only website that provides comprehensive training workouts of these exceptional stallions, check out the work that created their gridiron greatness.

Slingin’ the Skin:
Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers: 25-25, 436 yards, 2 TD
STACK: The “Alabama DB Slama” (note: not an official nickname) continues to build off his ’08 season when he led all signal callers in QB rating and smack.

Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints: 25-34, 311 yards, 3 TD
STACK: Brees fell 16 yards—and one Isotoner commercial—short of eclipsing Dan Marino’s single-season passing mark last season.

Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts: 14-23, 303 yards, 2 TD
STACK: Last season’s NFL MVP has his sights set even higher in ’09: greatest Sunday afternoon pitchman ever. Discuss.

Rock Toters:
Ronnie Brown, Miami Dolphins: 136 yards, 2 TD
STACK: Somewhere, Pop Warner and Amos Alonzo Stagg applaud Brown’s taming of the most talked about formation in the history of football.

Willis McGahee, Baltimore Ravens: 79 yards, 2 TD
STACK: So far so good in ’09 with more TDs than IR visits.

Special shout-out to: Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans for carrying my fantasy team to a real win on Sunday. You’re the best, Chris. (Also, we’ll have training videos of this slick speedster on the site soon!)

“Donnie Bosco’s” Divas (Please, can we all agree to retire the term “diva” when referring to an NFL WR? Thanks. Perhaps “Showdogs” is a more endearing description. Great, it’s settled. Continue on.):

Mario Manningham, New York Giants: 10 receptions, 150 yards, 1 TD
STACK: As long as he doesn’t shoot himself in the foot, Manningham should slide into the role of Eli’s go-to wideout.

Andre Johnson, Houston Texans: 10 receptions, 149 yards, 2 TD
STACK: Ever heard of Flipper Anderson? Tom Fears? Elroy “Crazy Legs” Hirsch? Jack Snow? Johnson is better.

Marques Colston, New Orleans Saints: 8 receptions, 98 yards, 2 TD
STACK: Recently, a long-time NFL scribe described Colston as “angular, tough and sure-handed.” Not sure what that means, but after battling nagging injuries last season, Colston is ready to make sweet passing history with Brees.

Last Line of Defense:
Darren Sharper, New Orleans Saints: 3 solos, 1 pick-six
STACK: Currently leading the NFL in picks, this savvy veteran has brought leadership and stability to a young Saints secondary.

Jared Allen, Minnesota Vikings: 4 solos, 1 sack
STACK: Continues to terrorize offenses with deceptive speed and strength, all while making the females of the Twin Cities swoon with his mountain-man looks.

Dwight Freeney, Indianapolis Colts: 2 solos, 2 assists, 1 sack
STACK: Seriously, I implore you to check out this sack master’s workout. And then you can laugh when commentators refer to him as “undersized.”
